Small but great sushi restaurant. The whole restaurant consists of a rectangular sushi bar where you are served by sushi chefs. It's not ideal for large groups because it takes time to get seated if they are busy. The sushi was great. The sushi chefs take their time preparing your sushi. They have a great selection of rolls from their menu to choose from. Prices are little on the high side but nothing out of the ordinary.
My family and I have been coming here for years. We tend to stick to the same rolls and yes prices have increased likely due to inflation but we have had very fresh fish and delicious rolls and food every single time. The waiters have been consistently nice and it's lovely to see our same waiters year after year as we become v acquainted. Edamame 4/5, this is what we get to nibble on while we wait for our rolls. It comes steamed fresh and very tasty Garlic Sautéed edamame 5/5 Salmon hand roll 4/5, this has dropped from 5 to 4 stars due to its price increase to $11 for a single roll Firefly roll 5/5, spicy and fresh consistently, melts in your mouth I dream of these rolls Crunchy Tiger 5/5, I enjoy pairing this roll with one of the more spicy rolls like the firefly or pink lady as this will balance out the dishes Pink Lady 5/5, if you love scallops this is the roll for you. Slightly spicy, these scallops melt in your mouth like butter Chicken Katsu Ramen 4/5, I order this less often as this is more of a winter dish for me. The chicken katsu is tender and crispy and beautifully placed on top of the ramen. I do enjoy the broth but with the chicken being so well, I generally leave portions of the broth and noodles behind as I prioritize the chicken.
We have been coming to Cho Cho San for a few years and has always had good sushi. The Yellow tail yuzu is definitely my favorite! We usually go to the Thousand Oaks location, but today we tried this location instead. Super cute and clean with the fish tasting fresh! I cannot be more thankful about the owner being absolutely amazing!! I left my purse hanging on the chair and completely forgot about it. The owner took it upon himself to find me and personally hand me my purse. He drove to our previous home based off my DL. He was updated with the new address by the new homeowners and he drove personally to hand me my purse! I cannot express how much I appreciate that he went out of his way to do this! What an honest man and I will be forever grateful!
Yesterday, Thanksgiving evening, my husband and I stopped to have a sushi dinner. For a long time, I pass in front of this restaurant when I go to Smart & Final. Yesterday, finally we tried the food there. The ambiance is casual, modern with a classic, fine chandelier. The sushi rolls are delicious! Really different than others. Something in the sauce that was tasty. The service is really friendly, nice. The salad was incredible good! The price was reasonable, two sushi's, miso and salad =
